Interim Pastor Announcement

Greetings from the Kinney Avenue Christian Leadership Team!

It is with great pleasure we introduce our church family and visitors to Grady Summers, the interim pastor at Kinney Avenue Christian Fellowship.

Having been raised in a family that loved Jesus, Grady gave his heart to Christ at the age of seven and surrendered his life to full-time ministry at age 15. He graduated from Howard Payne University with a Bachelor of Arts in Bible. While there he met Judy, who, as a pastor’s daughter, had given her heart to Jesus at the age of six. Grady and Judy married in 1974, and in the following year, they took a pastorate in Livingston, Montana where they experienced four amazing years of growth in ministry for them.

Moving back to Texas, Grady began studies for a Master of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, continuing to serve in several pastoral positions, the last of which was at First Baptist Church in Lytle, Texas.
In 2011, the Lord directed their steps to a more specific pastoral ministry, and Grady completed training for certification in biblical counseling, serving with Winning Families Ministries in San Angelo, Texas. While there he was offered the opportunity to serve as a hospice chaplain, a position that allowed him to also practice family counseling, both of which comprise his current ministry in the Austin area.

Grady and Judy have four children – Heather, Holly, Heidi (married to Paul), and Tristan (married to Melissa). They also have six grandchildren – Levi, Elijah, Daniel, Abel, Ezekiel and Ava Mae.

The Lord has taken them on a great adventure, defining the heart of their ministry as one that seeks to restore, encourage, heal and help the body of Christ, all the while, growing His body by sharing the gospel with the lost.

Grady expresses their heart for ministry at KACF:

“Our prayer is that the Lord make us a blessing to you as we serve in the position of interim pastor here at Kinney Avenue Christian Fellowship. Let’s continue to advance His Kingdom together for His glory!”

We are thankful that God has brought Grady to us as we begin the process of searching for a new pastor. Grady will serve as our primary preaching pastor on Sunday mornings during this interim. We know you will extend your gracious welcome to Grady and Judy as part of our church family and support them with your prayers during this transition time.
